This Electrolux does a fine job of routine cleaning of both low-pile carpet and bare floors for me. When the beater brush is engaged, it does get a bit noisy, but it's nothing too worrying. The attachments don't stay in their storage areas very well, but do a fine job when in use. It moves very well around the floor and the rounded design with its rubber bumper is very wall and furniture friendly.

Oreck Pro Series Gold Vacuum Cleaner Review

Oreck Pro Series Gold Vacuum Cleaner
Average Reviews:

I had to replace a basic ORECK that i had purchased in QVC at 199.00 with a payment plan i had problems with the bag falling off, they gave me the option to fix it or return it, i decided to return it and get a new one i was checking out amazon and after reding the reviews decided to buy the SHARK NAVIGATOR i run to the store and bought it. I was so happy, it was very easy to put together i really wanted to like it but what a disapiontment i have a cocker spaniel and when i started vacumming my carpet it took me 5 passes in the same place to realize that it was a joke of a vacuum too bad it was too late to return it to BED and BATH where i by the way got a 20% discount of 179.00 with a coupon "very good deal" but first thing in the morning i was there returing it, i went to ORECK and got the XL GOLD at $299.00 "special by it self" a little bit expensier but its a drean vac it kind of pulls you leading the way so smooth and feather like it picks up even the last dog hair at once, im in love with it the only thing that i really hate is that it doesn't have attachments and or a hose to clean hard to reach areas but im willing to sacrifice due to back problems, they do have a few designs with those things but they're expensier and heavier not for me really.
Its so hard to describe but this vacuum is much much better than my first basic ORECK wich was very powerfull but kind of hard to push around sometimes.
I hope this helps and if you're undecided go for the basic ORECK that they have at stores at $129 or go to QVC and make monthly payments they only weight 9 punds and are very powerfull i have had at least 20 vacuums and i would never ever buy another brand but ORECK it took me a lot of spending and finally i found the best.

Miele Tango S7 Upright Hepa Vacuum Cleaner Review

Miele Tango S7 Upright Hepa Vacuum Cleaner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We bought this vaccum in January because it had good ratings. Instead, we found it was an overpriced piece of junk that did a lousy job vaccuming until it completely died in October. We have submited a request for service to Miele but they have done nothing and don't appear to support their product. Save your money - buy a different brand.
This is also a large and bulky vaccum - my wife never liked it and found it too heavy.
Update 12/13/10: Now Miele is giving us excuses about service because we bought from Amazon.com (a non-authorized distributor) - their local dealer refused to service the vaccum. This company has absolutely horrible service and does not seem to want to honor their warranty. Avoid them. Our old Dyson vaccum at least lasted five years and cost $350 less.

SEBO Air Belt C3.1 9630AM White Canister Vacuum Cleaner Review

SEBO Air Belt C3.1 9630AM White Canister Vacuum Cleaner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After years of using my mothers 40 yo hand-me-down Electrolux, I decided it was time to get a "better" vacuum. I began experimenting with "new technology". Several years and several trashed vacuum cleaners later, I decided to get serious. Cheap vacuums don't work or break within the year. Bagless vacuums can work, but when you empty them, 25 percent of the dust goes right back in the air. Then you have to clean your dirt AGAIN when you clean the canister or the filters. Uprights just don't clean as well as Canisters.
So after much research I settled on the SEBO. What a pleasure. The handle is actually designed to move the way your wrist works. What a concept. It is so quiet, I actually thought it wasn't working at first. You can lay the handle absolutely flat and vacuum all the way under the bed/couch. You can "dim" the power with a touch of a button right on the handle to go over those fringed edges and throw rugs. And the canister follows you around on wheels like a little dog. No dragging it behind you. The little bumber all the way around lets it go around corners and furniture without damaging everything. All my walls and furniture had the telltale bumb mark from my big heavy Electrolux canister. No more. The small tools are onboard so there is no digging around for them, or going back to find them while cleaning. And, here is the best, the handle "parks" in the upright position. No more trying to jam the handle in the back of the closet. Did I mention it telescopes too? So you can shrink it to its smallest size, park it right next to the cannister, which also sits upright, all your tools are on board, not floating around with the gloves. OH, and it REALLY WORKS. LOVE IT!

The large and easy to use accessories (dusting brush, upholstery tool, and crevice tool) store conveniently under a tool storage lid. Professional users prefer SEBO worldwide, with good reason! Sebo's success is due to their innovative products and our strong focus on quality. Modern technology, state-of-the-art design and consistent customer focus are found in all SEBO products. MetroVac Stainless Steel/Chrome Canister Vac - OV4PNHSF Review

MetroVac Stainless Steel/Chrome Canister Vac - OV4PNHSF
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Just a quick review. This vacuum cleaner is pretty small. I found the suction good but the dust bag is about 1/4 of the vacuum (the rest is the motor) so that may affect the suction by filling up too quick. Have not got to that point yet. I think the size of the dust bag could be compared to a large breakfast cereal bowl. I just have one large room with carpet so the size is not an issue for me. The power head works well. There are a couple of fundamental design flaws. The first is that the power wire from the canister to the power head prevents the flexable hose from staying attached to the vacuum. The canister has ~2inch metal tube sticking out. The hose slips on over the metal tube but by adding on the power lead they have a little plug that prevents the hose from getting a snug connection. This means I cannot move the vacuum around by letting the hose pull it. On the other end of the canister is the blowing end which again has ~2inch metal tube sticking out but on this one you do not use the power head so the plug is not an issue and they also have a bump on the tube to improve the tube to hose connection. It blows pretty good so you have to be careful where that end of the vacuum is pointing. I think it is more designed to be carried around like a backpack so the poor hose connection would not be as much of a problem (but it still is) and then the blower end would be pointing down which would not be as much of a problem. I plan on fixing the blow problem by getting a 90 degee tube connection if I can. As for the power plug it needs to plug in on the side not the connection end of the hose. Might need to do some cutting and duct tape to fix that :( Without the power plug on the hose it connects up well enough. I think it is well made in terms of quality (good materials etc) but the poor design for the power head wiring is a fundamental flaw

Polaris Vac-Sweep 360 F1 Pressure Side Automatic Pool Cleaner for In-Ground Pools, Blue Review

Polaris Vac-Sweep 360 F1 Pressure Side Automatic Pool Cleaner for In-Ground Pools, Blue
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Polaris 360 is a very clever mechanical device that works great 20% of the time. Because it is made of cheap plastic parts that constantly break, it is more often under repair than in service. Having owned one for about three years now, I can say I've spent twice the original cost on replacement parts and service (even though I do most of the service myself). Hose life is 6 months, and $19 for a 6 foot replacement hose (my hose is 18 feet long). I've bought two of these Polaris 360's used on Craigs list for $100 each to cannibalize for parts (replacement parts are outrageously expensive).
Until the manufacturer improves the quality to the point that they are willing to offer a 5 year guarantee, I would avoid this product. In fact, I'd avoid the manufacturer, too.

This product is well made and will last. It suprised me just how many tools it came with. I can use it in the garage as well and the cars rugs hadn't looked that good ever. The hose protector took awhile to put on but it is made out of a poly streach material that protects everything it touches. It allows the hose to slide easily by furniture legs and other objects as well as protecting the hose.
Great product, well thought out ""good job Nutone".

Fuller Brush Heavy Duty Upright Vacuum Review

Fuller Brush Heavy Duty Upright Vacuum
Average Reviews:

Make sure you get a Fuller Brush FBHD1-T, with the T at the end. That is the designation for on board tools and attachments. Since I ordered a plain FBHD1, it did not come with tools which meant I had to purchase them separately which was a huge pain (Ended up buying a shop vac car kit and making an adapter for the hose to vacuum connection)
Anyways, had a cheap Eureka bagless vacuum. Every single time after vacuuming I would have to take the filter out and wash it. What a pain! The plastic brush in plastic frame melted on me. Got a new one for $30 or so. The vacuum shop told me when I get sick of replacing parts on it, come back to them to get a solid metal design.
I ended up researching online and got this unit. It performs awesome and is built solid with all metal lower parts. Picks up everything well, and has been maintenance free. Bags are cheap..I don't know why I even went bagless. It isn't lightweight, but it is moveable up and down stairs. Expect to have this vacuum for decades.

Miele S184 Upright Vacuum - Powerhouse Vacuum Cleaner - White Review

Miele S184 Upright Vacuum - Powerhouse Vacuum Cleaner - White
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I would like to help spare someone my frustration. First, this is a good vac. No it's not Miele's top of the line $900 - it's a little louder than I wanted, and initially seems kind of cheap and lightweight. But if you are sick and tired of pushing and lugging a heavy upright, this is the vac you want. It is small, compact, and can be lifted easily with one arm at about 14 lbs. The plastic seems high quality, a metallic flake blue. Says on the box it is made in the USA. My quest was to find an upright that could switch from pretty plush thick carpet, to hardwood floors. My heavy old Eureka worked OK on the hardwood, as it sat high, and therefore the brush roller never contacted the floor, thus avoiding damage. Unfortunately this isn't the case with this Miele. When the brush roller bar is activated, it definitely sits very low and contacts the hard floor. So Miele has an on-off switch for the roller to remedy this problem. Trouble is, there is really not much suction when the roller is turned off, just a wee bit, more on the right side. So I guess I go back to sweeping the hard floors. I had read that canister vacs are really the way to go for houses with both carpet and hard floor. But most canisters work best on thinner carpet. For thick carpet, you are advised to get powerhead canisters (heavier brush roller), but wow, the cost runs up there for Mieles, etc. So I went with this upright Miele because it was a bargain. I was told by a vac guy that Miele is discontinuing the line and staying with their high end vacs. This Miele is a dream to push on carpet--so smooth and light. It has so much suction that it does suck up smaller area rugs of 3X4, but those can go in the wash. The 184 model does have a power adjustment switch to lower the suction. Overall I am happy with it. The Hepa exhaust air seems very pure - no smell at all compared to the old uprights we all grew up with. I read that most cheap US made Hepas are false Hepas because the vacs aren't properly sealed. I trust Miele. It also comes with a thick high quality filter bag.

Pro-Team Super QuarterVac HEPA Backpack Vacuum Cleaner Review

Pro-Team Super QuarterVac HEPA Backpack Vacuum Cleaner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My wife and I moved into a new two-story home 3 months ago. In our one story home we used a Kenmore brand upright which we still have and after 8 years of use it still works very well. Our dilemma is with the two story house and stairway. We went from a 2,400 sqft home to a 4,700 sqft home. Lugging the good old Kenmore up and down the stairs and covering all the nooks and crannies, including the stairway, is quite a workout. My wife and daughter rely on me to move the vac when it's time to clean.
So I sought out reviews on a backback vac, after all that's what the commercial cleaners use right. Consumer Reports only covers canisters and uprights and all other reviews covered commercial applications, so not a lot of homeowner info to go by. So what do you do? Make the plunge and hope it works.
Well after two cleanings we are VERY impressed! This think sucks and we can vacuum the house in half the time it takes with our upright. Besides carpet we have wood and tile floors plus a pet that, unfortunately, sheds. We can vacuum quicker than using a broom and dustpan. This thing is great and as quite (by vacuum standards) as our Kenmore. We have stressed wood floors, ceramic and natural stone tiled floors along with looped carpeting. I suggest getting the optional wood floor 14" attachment and the floor duster (has a cloth mitt) for wood shutters or blinds... yes it cleans them as well.
A little cumbersome at first getting this to fit on your back but once you're set tell people to get out of your way... you will be done in no time! By the way most of our neighbors use cleaning services. We're cheap and prefer to do it ourselves at our convenience. That's how we justified the cost.

I just love this vacuum. My cleaning woman loves it, too. At the beginning I thought I made a mistake because it takes some reading to understand how it works. However, if one takes the time, this machine it's incredible. the first thing I noticed was the clean odor when vacuuming. I don't have to put any kind of deodorant or pellets in the bag. Secondly, as you vacuum longer with it, the amount of soil in the container dimishes and now it takes about an hour of vacuuming before we have to change the water. We have tested it on rugs, upholstery and windows, and once you get to know how it works, it's really good. I am very happy with my ROTHO Twin TT and as much as I love my Miele, this one has become the queen, in my house.

iRobot 610 Roomba Professional Series Review

iRobot 610 Roomba Professional Series
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've used the Roomba 610 and 560. I now have two refurbished 560s in our house, at the same price as one 610. And it's definitely a better value.
Before I talk about the 610, let me share what's good and bad about Roombas in general, based on my experience with both the 560s and 610:
Pros:
- You don't have to vacuum, the Roomba does it for you
- Scheduled cleanings so you don't even have to worry about it or be home to hear the noise
- Floors stay clean without much effort
- One button start it and forget about it
Cons:
- Absolute pain in the butt to clean these things. There's the two brushes, the front wheel, the spinning brush (which requires a screwdriver to remove), and the dust bin. All of these must be disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled, at least once per cleaning session.
- It's not effort free. As I said above, lots to clean, which requires 5-10 minutes each time you want to run the Roomba.
- With pets, the fur gets wrapped around EVERYTHING. Maybe without pets our cleaning of the Roomba would be easier, but the whole point of these devices is ease, and they do not deliver.
So the nice things about the 610 are:
- Easier brush cleaning than the 560. Not much easier, but easier. Hair & fur still get wrapped around the edges of the brushes and into the mechanisms, but it's 5% easier to clean on the 610.
- The accessories case and accessories. The brush cleaning tool is nice, but it doesn't clean the brush holders, where all the stuff actually gets wrapped up and is difficult to clean.
Not so good things about the 610:
- No carrying handle. This seems inconsequential, but after having a way to pick up my 560 without having to pick the whole thing up from the bottom, where all the dust and dirt accumulates, you appreciate a carrying handle. Why didn't they include this on the 610?
- Only two lighthouses. They say it can clean four rooms, but they only include two lighthouses. My experience has been that three rooms is pushing it, so unless you have small rooms two lighthouses may be OK.
So why did I get two 560s if I have so many problems? I hate to vacuum, and I'd rather clean all the brushes and edges once a day than push the vacuum around for 45 minutes. So it's a trade-off.
Read other forums and you'll see that the 610 is not recommended, it's basically a 560 with lipstick.

Designed for small business owners or those with larger areas to clean, the iRobot Roomba 610 Professional Series vacuum cleaning robot covers up to 4 rooms on a single battery charge. It efficiently vacuums dirt, debris, pet hair, dust, allergens and more from carpets and hard floors into a bagless bin that's easy to empty. And it's amazingly simple to operate--just press the Clean button and the Roomba 610 does the rest. Finished with industrial strength paint and bumpers, the Roomba 610 comes equipped with an additional High Capacity Sweeper Bin, a complete set of replacement brushes, replacement filters, and a convenient storage case.
The Roomba 610's compact shape allows it to vacuum beneath beds, couches and other hard-to-reach places while its innovative, spinning side brush removes accumulated debris along kickboards, cabinet edges and corners. A sturdy bristle brush digs deep into carpet fibers to grab dirt, debris, pet hair and more, while a fine filter traps dust, pollen and tiny particulates inside the bin. It even detects dirtier areas and spends more time cleaning them.
You can schedule up to seven cleaning times per week at times when it's most convenient for you, and when the Roomba 610 is finished it automatically returns to its compact, self-charging Home Base to dock and recharge between cleanings. The Roomba 610 comes with 2 professional-grade Virtual Wall Lighthouses that create invisible barriers that block Roomba from entering off-limit areas or direct Roomba to completely vacuum one room before sending it to the next room.
You can choose between 3 cleaning modes--standard Clean Mode maximizes coverage for a room after calculating its size; Max Mode for cleaning larger areas until its battery is nearly depleted; and Spot Mode for concentrated cleaning in an area up to three feet in diameter.
The unit measures 17 by 18 by 5 inches and weighs just over 16-1/2 pounds. It's backed by a 2-year warranty.
What's in the Box iRobot Roomba 610; Professional Series Virtual Wall Lighthouses (each requiring 2 C-size batteries, not included); self-charging home base; power supply; 2 brush cleaning tools; extra set of brushes; rechargeable battery; 2 extra filters; debris bin; high-capacity sweeper bin; storage case

iRobot Roomba 4230 Remote Scheduler Robotic Vacuum Review

iRobot Roomba 4230 Remote Scheduler Robotic Vacuum
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Simply put, it exceeds my expectations. I'm traveling in a 26ft class C Rv with 3 dogs and a husband, all of which shed copious amounts of fur. My partner was very critical of this vac before we got it, and to be honest, I bought it for our cabin, not the RV. However it arrived while we were on the road so I took a risk at an "told you so" and used it in the RV. To my delight, we are hair free for a month now without having to lift a finger (except cleaning the bin and brushes on a regular basis) and the skeptic even praises it and named it Hazel. For a techno-phobe, this is saying something. It does a good job avoiding problem areas like steps and squeaky toys. The dogs watch it from the sofa and have accepted it as a family member. I find we watch it a lot too. It's mesmerizing. We run it once a day, often as we walk the dogs, and return to a very clean floor. I disagree with those who say it is a toy. It is not a toy; it does a good job maintaining a floor on a daily basis. I wouldn't expect it to replace my regular vacuum but rather replace daily vacuuming. We use a shop vac once every two weeks for those hard to reach areas that dog fur always seems to find (door pockets, top of dressers, etc), and use Hazel for daily maintenance to keep our travel quarters shedding fur free.
Two things you need to be aware of about this device. It doesn't like rugs with tassels, or shoe laces, or anything else a normal vacuum doesn't like. Roomba doesn't always see these things as obstacles. It does a great job of getting un-stuck (it uses what I call the dung beetle approach by rearing up and turning around...fun to watch).
You also need to keep it clean. I clean mine every other day. Emptying the bin is one thing, but I use the included cleaning tool to keep the brushes hair free on a regular basis. Since we have so many dogs in a confined space, it can build up hair on the brushes quickly. At first I thought this was going to be a bother, but its something I enjoy doing. Its like grooming a friend (in a monkey at the zoo kind of way).

With Roomba Scheduler, you can program Roomba to clean when you're not home, at night, daily, or when you go to work. Nothing keeps your home cleaner than cleaning every day--with Roomba Scheduler, you can!
Scheduling Capability
With Roomba Scheduler, you can easily program Roomba to clean when you want. Roomba will leave the Home Base at your scheduled time, effectively clean the floor, and return to the Home Base to recharge its battery for the next cleaning cycle. If it weren't for the clean floors, you might forget Roomba was there.
Simply program the desired cleaning time into the Scheduler Remote, then send the cleaning schedule to Roomba and the new Virtual Wall Schedulers. Both Roomba and the Virtual Walls will turn on at the time you have scheduled.
Roomba Really Works
Roomba features a patented 3-stage cleaning system that is proven effective. First, the small spinning side brushes grabs dirt and debris in corners and along walls, sending it into the main cleaning path. Second, two counter-rotating brushes pick up large particles, pet hair, and other debris. Third, an extremely efficient vacuum picks up the remaining fine particles. All of the dirt and debris is deposited into a large capacity, easy-to-empty bin.
Roomba's cleaning head automatically adjusts to any floor surface including wood, tile, linoleum and low-to-medium pile carpet. Roomba can even sense dirtier areas of your floor and will clean more intensely there.

Roomba Covers the Entire Floor
Roomba automatically calculates the appropriate cleaning time in any situation. Roomba will cover every part of the room an average of 4 times per cleaning cycle, and because Roomba cleans under furniture and other obstacles--Roomba actually cleans more of the floor than standard uprights. Roomba will even return back to its self-charging Home Base at the end of a cleaning cycle or when its battery is running low.
To start a cleaning cycle, simply press the clean button and Roomba immediately begins calculating the size of the room, the number of obstacles in the room, and the cleanliness of the room. Roomba automatically monitors its environment and adjusts its behavior over 67 times per second.
During a cleaning cycle, Roomba automatically reacts to many different obstacles and situations. Roomba features integrated cliff sensors that allow the robot to turn away from stairs and other cliffs. Roomba's non-marring bumper senses furniture and other obstacles. Roomba also has infrared wall sensors that allow the robot to clean on the perimeter of the room and around obstacles. Roomba also features special escape behaviors that allow it to quickly get out from under chairs and off of troublesome thresholds.
Roomba Scheduler comes with two special Virtual Wall Schedulers to confine Roomba in the area you want to clean. Simply place the Virtual Walls in a doorway and send the cleaning schedule to the Virtual Wall. The Virtual Wall will turn for the duration of Roomba's cleaning cycle. Roomba automatically detects the invisible infrared beam of the Virtual Wall and turns away. Virtual Walls are great for keeping Roomba in one room or away from cords and other obstacles.
Easy to Use
Roomba Scheduler is very easy to use. Simply set the time you want Roomba to clean and send the schedule to the robot, or just set the robot down and press "Clean." At the end of the cleaning cycle, Roomba Scheduler will return to its Home Base. Replaceable air filters prevent dust and dirt from escaping back into the air and the large capacity bagless bin is easy to empty. Roomba's brushes can be removed by hand for easy maintenance. The Scheduling Remote also allows you to turn on and steer Roomba from across the room.
Roomba's cleaning head automatically adjusts to any floor surface including wood, tile, linoleum and low-to-medium pile carpet. Roomba can even sense dirtier areas of your floor and will clean more intensely there.
Roomba's Power System
The vacuum's advanced power system consists of a fast-charging battery, a three-hour charger, and a power source--it supercharges the unit for up to 120 minutes of continuous cleaning. When the battery is low or it has completed a cleaning cycle, the vacuum automatically returns to its charging Home Base so that it will be ready for the next cleaning session. Roomba can clean up to three 14- by 16-foot rooms before the Roomba Battery needs to be recharged.
What's in the Box Roomba Scheduler, scheduling remote, scheduling virtual walls (2), home base, fast charger, cleaning tool, spare brush pack, APS battery.

Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum - 5770 Review

Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum - 5770

i wasn't too excited about spending $300 on a vacuum, but i had to see if the hype was valid. so i bought this vacuum with every intention of returning it when i proved it wasn't any diffrent from my old dirt devil. well, that did not happen. after getting home and assembling this product (very easy) i brought out my old vacuum (had it about 2 yrs)emptied the dirt cup, took the filter off and banged as much dust out of it as i could (creating quite a mess in the process)and vacuumed my house as i normally would. then i broke out the healthy home. still skeptical, i started to re vacuum my house. i have 2 dogs, and i don't think i've ever gotten all the hair up ever. with this vacuum i had to empty the dirt cup twice while vacuuming (which is also unbelievably easy, and no mess at all). i was disgusted at how much dirt was left in my carpet after using my old vacuum. after i finished with the bissell, i got down on the floor to see how much dog hair was still embedded in the carpet. i couldn't find any. so i did the only logical thing i could think of... i threw the dirt devil away and put the bissell in the closet. did i mention how quiet this machine is? it's quiet. i love this vacuum.

SEBO 9803AM Felix Fun Upright Vacuum Cleaner 12" Cleaning Path Review

SEBO 9803AM Felix Fun Upright Vacuum Cleaner 12 Cleaning Path
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I hate vacuuming. Really hate it. But I think this product will help me at least put up with it. It arrived today, and I have to say I am impressed with how thoroughly it cleans. Fluff and dog hairs that our Dyson failed to lift off carpets were gone in one sweep. After only 2 rooms, the bag is almost full (yuck!).
How did we end up with this vacuum cleaner? We moved to the US from the UK 3 years ago. In the UK, we had a Henry vacuum, which was fantastic. But US voltage differs from UK voltage, so we had to leave our Henry behind. When we arrived in the small US town we now live in, our local store offered us a very limited range of vacuums, so we bought a Dyson. It was a brand we recognized, and had a good reputation. How I regretted it. It never cleaned carpet well, and as it aged, it seemed to get worse. A week ago, after resorting (for the N-th time) to using the unadorned end of the hose -- without any kind of head or brush -- to try to lift off the black bits left by my other half's socks, I snapped. The Dyson was forthwith banished to the garage. To cut a long story short, I selected this make of vacuum cleaner based on the reviews here on Amazon, and on other consumer sites.
It shipped from a partner site, and arrived 2 days after I ordered it. It was very simple to assemble (just one screw to tighten, otherwise things clicking together), and I was using it within 20 minutes of opening the box. It seems very straightforward to use.
Things I particularly like:
* The power head. There are 4 settings, for different types of carpet. You can tell if it needs moving to a different setting because an amber light comes on (if the setting is OK, there is a green light)
* The variable speed of suction. Rather than a simple on/off switch, there is a slider that goes from off to top speed via a range of other speeds. Very useful if you want to vacuum something more delicate like an old rug.
* The swivel head and handle. These make it very easy to slide the head under furniture and into corners.
Things I will have to get used to:
* The weight. It's heavier than I am accustomed to.
* Changing the head for wood floors. The Dyson had a multi-functional head (which was probably why it was so useless on carpet).
Things I think could be improved, given the price:
* It should ship with at least a few spare bags.
* There is no dust brush included. This is one of the most useful accessories a vacuum cleaner can have (particularly this one, with its ability to finely control the amount of "suck"). In this price bracket, a dust brush should be standard
* Before I bought this, I hadn't registered the difference between the Felix Fun/Classic and the Ice Blue. I thought it was just the color. But looking at the users manual, it appears that the Ice Blue has a 15" head, whereas the Fun and Classic have a 12" head. It turns out that a 12" head is fine for me, given the arrangement of my furniture (some tight spots), but given the amount of carpet I have, I may well have bought the 15" head Ice Blue version had I realized.
All in all, so far I am very pleased with the product, despite the above shortcomings.

PowerClean Cordless Pond Vac - Extends from 57 in. to 92 1/2 in. Review

PowerClean Cordless Pond Vac - Extends from 57 in. to 92 1/2 in.
Average Reviews:

I have a 12x12 pond that is 2 ft deep and has not been emptied for 4 years. I bought this vac to clean the lightweight muck that had accumulated at the bottom. Unless you can discharge the water a few feet away it is necessary to extend the hose to a safe discharge area. The bag would not be practicable for this type of debris.
The pump picks up an adequate amount of water and muck as you move it along the bottom. The problem is that if you have any small stones, 3/4 in or less, it will jamb the blades and stop the pump. It also will jamb with items such as snail shells. The solution for me was to turn the pump head so the pickup lay sideways or upward during the vac operation. This worked fine and avoided the jamming problem. It also picked up pieces of dead plants and this accumulated on the head. I plan to use it daily until I have removed the "muck" and then use it weekly to maintain the pond. It you have a newer pond with no small debris or stones, this is a very good solution to maintain the pond. Its well built and easy to handle.
