(More customer reviews)The yellow filter holder is of good quality and comparable with original Dyson part, or so it seems. The blue foam insert is made out of very different foam than what Dyson had used. I don't know for sure, but I assume that the filtration characteristics of the foam are critical to the performance, longevity and safety of operation. The air passing through the foam becomes the cooling air for the motor. If there was too much dust, or if the foam would clog faster than Dyson's, motor damage could potentially result. I decided to play it safe and get the foam from Dyson, but use the yellow holder as mine got brittle with age and broke.
