I have tried other, less expensive brands, some which even looked similar and proclaimed to be air circulators as well, but none even came close to doing the job this Vornado does. True to its claim, it is not merely a fan, but a true air circulator. It is every bit as effective as a great ceiling fan, only portable to boot. Mine has been running in the hot Texas summer for three years straight without a hitch. It is great in the winter too for circulating heated air. You cannot go wrong with this one!
