(More customer reviews)My son and I were at first overwhelmed with the large number of unmarked pieces, screws and other fasteners. It ships in 2 large boxes that are full of heavy pieces of wood that you need to match up with drawings in the instruction book. Speaking of them, the instructions could have been better because they seemed to have been written for someone with more experience in carpentry then we had..(they kind of made Ikea look good!!) It took us several hours but by following the instructions to the letter (and making a few wrong turns) and double-checking the screws to make sure they were correct, we were able to complete the island. It is now looking beautiful in my kitchen and I am very pleased with it. It is just as heavy and sturdy as it looks in the picture and well worth the money, especially when compared with some of the ones at the local discount and department stores.
