I consider myself a value shopper - and this island work center delivers it in spades. I've never bought anything that gets as much positive attention as the Cossatot. It is truly solid oak base, even the bottom pieces and inside panels are all oak. The top is stunning. This piece must weight 500lbs and I can't imaging that it could ever be torn up. I think if it were hit by a truck, the truck would have the worst end of it.
I know a lot about furniture construction and I can't believe how cheap this one is. A definite BUY!
BTW: I highly recommend opting in for the casters - you can reposition with one hand for greater utility.
