Just received this vac yesterday. I though it would be a cheaper version of the Oreck Halo and could therefore assume it was as effective in killing germs dust mites, etc. However the UV light is in the top, front part of the head and very little of the light shines directly on the carpet, so I am left wondering how much organic stuff really gets killed, which is the main reason I bought the vac. Other negs: the accessory hose plugs into the side of the head-not real convenient and the cover to the hole when the tool is not attached, is flimsy; the cord is kind of cheap; the led lights come on when you plug it in rather than when you turn the vac on; and the UV light has to be turned on with a button on the head rather than coming on when the vac is turned on. On the positive side: the Hepa bag is nice; it is lightweight; it has a two speed motor which is controlled from the handle and isn't too shrill or loud, and it seems to do a good job of vacuuming. If you want the vac for the UV action , I wouldn't recommend it because I just don't trust the claim of UV germ killing protection with the way the light is set up.
